Candidate Identification

Wake the Bear.

FAIRPAC runs WaketheBearCA.org — our scouting and support operation. Its job is to find the candidates who stand for common sense and the continuance of an individual-centric way of life — the men and women who know how to ride the mustang without shooting it and without letting it trample Main Street — and to get help to their races. A candidate does not have to apply, affiliate, or ever contact FAIRPAC. If they stand for the principles, the support can come to them.

Identify

Wake the Bear watches the races nobody else watches — school boards, councils, districts, sheriffs, state seats — and finds the candidates whose record and words show they stand for faith, reason, and a republic governed closest to home.

Distinguish

Every identified candidate is measured against the fourteen positions above — principle by principle, with evidence. The results are published in the register below, so a donor knows precisely who stands for what, and why.

Assist, Race by Race

Support is tailored to the one race at hand: research on the district, messaging that fits the community, and independent backing where it counts — delivered whether or not the candidate has ever spoken to us.

Support provided without a candidate's involvement is made independently. Not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee. No FAIRPAC assistance is ever coordinated with a candidate we have not formally engaged.

Who Stands for What

Support with raw distinctions.

Donors deserve precision, not vague endorsements. For every race we enter, this register states exactly which candidate stands for which of the fourteen principles, the evidence for it, and what backing that race achieves. No candidate appears here without documented evidence, and no claim is published that we cannot source.

Every Entry States — The Race

The candidate and the race

Name, office sought, district, and election date — a real person in a real race, vetted through Wake the Bear before a word is published.

Every Entry States — The Principles

The principles, with evidence

Which of the fourteen positions the candidate stands for — cited to votes cast, records kept, and words said in public. Principle-scored, never party-scored.

Every Entry States — The Return

What your support buys

The concrete end a donation to that race achieves — a transparent school board, an honest budget, a safer county — stated plainly enough to be checked later.

Candidate distinctions are published here as races are vetted. The first vetted races from Wake the Bear will appear in this register by name; until then, we print no names rather than print guesses.
